More yellow...

Bit of a yellow theme going on at the moment - Sunflowers a fews days ago, the Coreopsis that the butterflies found so alluring yesterday & today some weeds.

Bane of horse owners, the Ragwort is a colourful addition to the late summer. A member of the daisy family & food for a variety of butterfly & moth. As a kid they were covered in the black & orange stripped caterpillars of the lovely red Cinnabar moth. I can't remember the last time I saw one now - clever beasties though - they absorb the poison of the ragwort plant & make themselves unpalatable to predators...
