Saturday 21 August 2010: Doors Open - St. Andrew's College, Aurora, Ontario

Actor Kiefer Sutherland was a student here until graduating in 1986. He had his wedding in the chapel across the quad about a decade later. St. Andrew's is an all-boy's private college (grades 6 through 12) since the late 19th century. Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris studied here. Other alumni since 1899 include 18th Governor General Vincent Massey, author Timothy Findley, and publisher Jack McClelland.

This photo is of the student residences and the quad in front of them. Doors Open Aurora is in its fifth year but this was our first time visiting in our own town. We have done Doors Open Toronto several times. Lots of them around and always interesting. It is a world-wide phenomena well worth the time.
