an art to how it is done

I never tire of this sight. There seems to be an art to how it is done. I would love to watch them as they prepare for this circus-like feat of balance, precision and poise. They place a piece of cloth on their heads to soften the feeling of weight bearing down on their shoulders, hold the rack in place with one hand, and steer with the other. They veer in and out of traffic, dodging pedestrians and cars alike, whistling or hissing to warn that they are coming. Cirque de Soleil have nothing on these men.

And people part, like the Red Sea, to let them through. They may not have much in life, but they are afforded this, the smallest inkling of respect.
