Drive into Palmwag

We were starting to grow road-weary by the time we made the long drive from Opuwo down to Palmwag ("Pall-m-wagh" with the throat-clearing g). Thankfully this part of the country looked a lot like the American Southwest, making for a great cruise. It was hot and dusty. We drove with the windows down to conserve a little petrol (the next station was over 300 km away) so our hair and dashboard were coated with white powder. At sunset the mesas turned more red than the horizon and we finished the last, tenth disc of Bob Dylan's autobiography.
