Sunday 19 September 2010: Welcome to Malta
Touched down Malta at 21:00, warm and humid, smell of wild rosemary and sage fills the air. My driver heads to the hotel at boy racer speeds, past sights such as Mdina Cathedral and Mosta Dome. Straight to the hotel straight to a briefing.
Tomorrow starts at 05:00, later we're also combing one of the sights of a bird massacre from 2009 for evidence of activity this year.
All the time we're in the briefing the rest of the hotel sits in a quiz and listens to bad karaoke of Nancy Sinatra and Petula Clarke.
