Saturday 3 November 2007: All screwed up
I am sure it is not healthy to get enraged by the last person to do DIY in your house.
But I bet it is common.
A recurring bugbear. Whoever did it in this house seemed to have been a screw squirreller. Keeping all those spare screws just in case they would one day come in handy.
As a result, almost every item that is fixed to something else uses an eclectic variety of screws. So I am forever having to hunt for that other bit for my electric screwdriver as I try to undo the 'improvements'.
A case in point - a simple TV mounting bracket. I am sure it must have come with screws, but they still managed to use 3 different types for the four identical holes.
