Sunday 4 November 2007: The Ghosts of Wallpapers Past

Another day of DIY. Was hoping to get on to painting today, but unfortunately discovered that the floor-to-ceiling mirrors had been glued to the walls by Bodger and Bodger (see yesterday), and removing them removed half the wall. Found this underneath when we removed the rest - a fascinating collection.

So another afternoon of plasterboarding.

It is funny stuff plasterboard (or drywall as I believe the 'merkins call it). It can be so strong and easy and satisfying to handle, but as soon as things go wrong, they go badly wrong, and you end up with a fragile, broken, crumbly mess.
