Thursday 14 October 2010: Buffalo Bill
In October 1891 Colonel William Cody's Buffalo Bill Wild West Show opened in the East End Exhibition Building, Dennistoun, Glasgow, with stars such as sharp-shooter Annie Oakley. He was also accompanied by Sioux Braves. The show ran until 27 February 1892.
This statue went up in Dennistoun in 2006 to commemorate the event. There are loads of stories surrounding the visit. He even caused a sensation when he turned up at Ibrox for a Rangers game.
He obviously had a great influence on the city, its amazing how many cowboys there are in Glasgow to this day.
