Sian and Cecil

This is my sister, Sian, and her pet Starling, Cecil. We think Cecil must have been hand-reared as from the moment he arrived about a month ago he happily sat on Sian's head and took food from her hand. Now he comes when she whistles and his favourite foods are dried cranberries and grated cheese - both are being offered in this photograph, though you might need to view the larger version to see the cheese. Once he'd had his fill he flew off to join the other 'Starlings', which are actually House Sparrows, in a nearby bush.
