Not a snow blip...

Bright sunshine and bitter cold on the balcony this morning, and you would not know it was wimter really except for the harsh quality of the light and indeed the odd bit of visible snow...

Yesterday's attempt go get to Dublin was aborted thanks to bad luck. We were on the aircraft waiting for the engines to start when they announced that Dublin was closing. By the time it reopened 6 hours later our crew was out of time and couldn't fly and they couldn't get another one over from Dublin. Getting back to Edinburgh was complicated by forgetting my battery charger at the gate and having to get Glasgow airport staff to retrieve it, plus bitter bitter cold in the station in Glasgow, on the train (which had ice on the inside of its windows) and (especially) Edinburgh which must have been -10c and where we had difficulty finding a taxi at 11.30pm.

Staying home today to work. Feels good to stop struugling against the snow for the first time, in effect, since Saturday when I started worrying about getting to Brussels.

No travel (apart from Glasgow and that doesn't count) until Monday 13 December. Woohoo.

alfthomas has gone close up.
