The Edge of the Wold

Heads down

After yesterday's brilliant sunshine in Arnside, a grey day in the Auld Grey Town of Kendal. Heads down in the office as we near the end of the year and looming deadlines and targets.

Time for a brief escape at lunchtime and a short walk along the Kent. There are a lot of mute swans now on the river south of Romney Bridge, perhaps displaced from frozen lakes and tarns elsewhere in the Lake District. There were also three goldeneyes, a male and two females, but they were much too wary to allow me close enough for a photo.

meganrose tells me there was red sunset tonight over Morecambe, but sat in the office, I missed it.

Thank you to everyone who commented, rated and favourited yesterday's solitary oak tree. The best reception any photo of mine has had.
