I missed the flight!

My heart is like a singing bird.

Christina Rossetti

This winsome soul is a first-winter female Blackpoll Warbler. She should not still be here in Massachusetts, not in our cold backyard. It's one of the most common birds of the northern boreal forest, and according to my research, the Blackpoll Warbler flies all the way to South America to spend the winter. So, she missed the last boarding call and she's hanging out with the sap tapping sparrows, and other peanut obsessed birds of our cold backyard.
