L'abeille / the bee

I've blipped this old shop front before - here - but not in close-up. The low sun and long shadows at this time of year seem to show the detail and also the little sign of 'L'abeille' (the bee). I'm not sure what it signifies, whether it was a bee keeper's sign, or the name of a journal, or maybe the shop sold Laguiole knives which all have the trademark bee on their handles.

Like yesterday, the air is clear and the light brilliant. This doesn't mean it's warm, though - maybe warmer than in more northern regions, but we have winter even in the Midi! First thing this morning the thermometer on the pharmacy was reading 2 degrees.

You can see the bee and the textures of the wall better in LARGE
