Avenham Towers

Did a final site inspection on a funded project this afternoon. The scheme was a replacement bridge on the Preston Junction Cycleway a network of former railway lines just south of the River Ribble. It involves a bit of a hike to get to it so I parked in Preston and walked a good bit of the newly surface cycle paths. On the way back the low afternoon sun lit up one of the Victorian Town houses that border the Avenham Park. Preston is my home town and now a city. Like all towns and cities there are the ratty run down bits but this end of town is a conservation area for its buildings that maybe a lot of Prestonians don't know about.
