Monday 17 December 2007: Crossed Blades
We had the first really hard frost of the winter this morning, so I felt the urge to capture something ice related. I live in a suburban area where the "big picture" isn't very photogenic, so once again I've gon small. Snapped a few leaves and blades of grass trying to find neutral backgrounds to highlight the ice. I was fighting AF again today, and the wretched dynamic range that my camera likes to render to. I must try shooting RAW and processing manually to get the full benefit of the 16-bit/channel sensor capture... If only SLRs were practical.
Anyway, decided to go with these blades of grass, which I thought looked a bit like swords clashing.
