Friday 31 December 2010: Last food of 2K10

Excellent night tonight. Not the nicest picture of the steak, it looked a lot better in real life! But we were busy which was nice. And as I walked out of the door, past the restaurant I just overheard a lady telling her table that 'the food was excellent tonight' which is what I do it for!
Lets hope 2011 is going to be a better year than 2010 for the whole of the catering industry because it has not been good.

In the picture:

Canapes: lemon sole with prawn mousse and caviar, foie gras and ginger/shallot marmalade on toasted brioche, goatscheese and roasted red pepper

Starter: Smoked eel mousse with home cured salmon and sweet pickled baby fennel

Main: Pan fried fillet of beef with tomato fondue, truffled green beans, pommes pont neuf, and bearnaise sauce

Dessert1: Dark chocolate tart with white chocolate mousse and a chocolate vodka shot
Dessert2: Mango baked alaska with passionfruit coulis and sweetened star fruit
