Road stall at Waboomskraal

An attractive road stall next to the main road on the way back to George. Situated in die farming community of Waboomskraal, it offers fresh produce to every one's taste.

Amongst others, it offers: fresh fruit from the local farms, koue bier, or cold beer, roosterkoek which is a flat bread, made from bread dough and baked on an open fire.

Since we are close to ostrich country, it has healthy ostrich meat products for sale.
Jams from the fruits of the area are available.

Local wines are for sale, as well as wines and port from De Krans Brewery in Calitzdorp and Grundheim winery near Oudtshoorn.

Last but not least, the important sign of OOP tells the weary traveler that it is open for business.

Today we have visited Oudsthoorn and the heat was simply incredible! I can only guess that it was well into the forties - it was like standing in front of an open oven.

On our return to George, this lovely scene of the clouds rolling over the Outeniqua mountains greeted our weary, sun baked souls.
We had a lovely day, nonetheless, and my conviction to live in the cooler temperatures of George was once again confirmed.
