A chef's day...

Day off today so no food. This is a pic of me in my first ever job as a chef. It was taken 18 years ago in a restaurant in Schoonhoven, The Netherlands.

If you look closely you will see a small bottle hanging above the meat slicer. The sous chef cut his thumb on the machine quite badly and the head chef/owner took the piece of thumb and hung it above the slicer as a warning to others. Needless to say I have always used the safety guard on a slicer since and never cut myself!
