Auld Brig

Not 'Old Bridge'. It's always been the Auld Brig. The petrol station that used to be near here was the Auld Brig Filling station followed by the Auld Brig garage and then an extremely dodgy business that sold cheap petrol if you paid £100 up front for the privilege (that was subsequently shut down after HM Customs caught wind of it and the bomb squad was called in as they'd been tipped off it may have been a bomb making factory too. The charlatan that ran it ended up in the Auld Jail after all that).

After the afternoon in out-of-town retail hell we stopped off here to have a look at Loch Devon. It's not actually a loch but I've never seen the river as high as it was today and it had spread into the neighbouring fields and closed off some of the local roads that cross it (a couple of other local blippers also had the same subjects today; here, and here). I say we stopped off here, but Samantha walked up to the bridge, decided it was too cold, then headed straight back to the car to read her paper. Wuss. She obviously hadn't noticed the guy leaving the shop in front of us dressed in his shorts and trainers (no socks). It's obviously summer now the snow's gone.
