Happy Birthday to you.....

Happy Birthday. Our son's fifth birthday was held at a local gymnastics center. He had been asking for a gymnastics party for a whole year.....ever since attending a party previously. And he was so excited. It was a Star Wars themed party and he was in charge of deciding who he would like to invite this year. This year, there was no question in his mind that he wanted to invite four of his best preschool buddies. And they came. Along with their families and about twelve other kids/families. It was a big party this year. But each child at the party has played an important role in our son's life. He loves his friends. And he loves his cousins. And he just simply loves life so this party was definitely one of his most exciting days ever.

And he was cute to watch with all of his little buddies. They ran from mat to trampoline to foam pit to rope swing and back again. Their level of energy and excitement was adorable. All of their families came. Many of which are close friends, family and a few new friends to our family. And the little kids were not the only ones participating in the gymnastics games. The Dads were definitely having just as much fun. This photo of my husband makes me laugh every single time I look at it. Because the guys were doing some serious flips and tricks in that gym. And it made us all laugh so hard. Thankfully this not a photo of my 'flip' attempt into the foam pit because my flip turned into a belly flop at the last moment and let's just say it was not graceful in any sort of a way. We all had so much fun. And we all acted like kids in that gym. It is one of the funnest little parties that I have seen thus far. Everyone was laughing, goofing off and just enjoying the craziness of being able to act like a kid again.

Birthday parties are such special times in a child's life. A chance for them to be the center of attention and realize that every single person there came just for them. Their day for the spotlight. My husband and I were both raised in families who made each of our birthday's very special and heart warming events. And this is exactly what we want to do for our children. We want them to always feel spoiled by love. I am so thankful to each of the families who helped in making our son feel very special today celebrating his 5th birthday. Memories like this are memories to be treasured.

*The iMovie for today's party is going to be a one of a kind. Yes, I did capture each and every Dad flip and wipe-out. :)
