Sunday 23 January 2011: Fresh Carrots!
Another lovely mild day here - no wind and no rain. I decided to venture into the garden and assess the winter damage. Delighted to find that the carrots that I had not harvested before the big freeze came in early December were undamaged! I had not thinned them very well so had left them in to put on every last bit of growth possible. They even seemed to have grown a bit since I last lifted some in November.
So tasty fresh carrots on the menu tonight. Cooked in about 3 tablespoon of water with a fat knob of butter till tender to seal in all the flavour. Yum!
