Drinking

Exhaustive analysis of the daytime goings on in the lanes off Thistle Street confirms that there are only three things happen - people have a smoke, they talk/text on their phone or they have a cuppa. They never seem to do just one. For instance, today my first guy was perfectly happy to stand in a doorway blowing smoke out while he chatted on his phone. If it hadn't been for the wind all we would have seen was the dragon's breath of smoke coming from the doorway.

The second guy, whose name I forgot to ask, was rolling one as I passed and caught sight of his cup. He was happy to hold his cup in a casual, "I'm just having a cuppa" style so long as he wasn't in the photo, while I leaned over a bin thinking what a ridiculous way this is to spend your lunch hour. But it needs to be done, if only to finish the city week with another lane shot.

Other than that all that happened was a strange pre-tender meeting where the client tells you what you already know, invites questions and no one says a word worth anyone else hearing. But a few pints in the Guildford made it all worthwhile.

I think it's going to be a night in front of the telly with a glass of wine.
