Puerto Santiago

One of the headlands near where we stayed, a fishing village now overrun with with apartments. Fishing boats do still set out from here, you can see some at the bottom of the picture. But the water level is much lower than the quay and a winch [just visible, blue pole] has to be used each day to get boats in and out of the water. You can also see some of the dark volcanic rock of the island. Tenerife, I am reliably informed, has over 400 volcanoes but none has been active since 1909. Hmmm.
