Monday 7 February 2011: Seal watching
I was watching them and they appeared to be watching me on the bank of the river. They know that we do not pose a real threat to them as they take a rest on an island in the middle of the river. They are only there roundabout high tide so that they can quickly slope off into the water and glide out of sight if anything threatens them. They are very clever and much more graceful under water than on dry land. I have had the pleasure of diving with seals and they kind of laugh at us underwater with all that gear on!
Cold and wintery up here today but it is still daylight when I get out of work now - yeh!
