Back and Forth thru time

Wings of a dove??

Directly outside our front window are a collection of small, berry laden bushes and trees, and they really come alive this time of year with avian activity.

It acts as a nesting space, a lookout tower, a dinner hall, a playground, a battleground,a communal space and a place to gather and gossip and communicate all the birdy news... i offer you twitter,( i know i couldn't resist it.)

These little fellas, or little femmes are my favourite bird easily.

You can stick your nasty magpies with their monochrome suits and their burglar eyes,

stick the Blackbirds who clearly fail trade descriptions with their enormous yellow beaks.

Stick the pheasants with their over gaudy flamboyant dress and their questionable attitude to females,

You can even stick the woodpecker that is trying to destroy my timber store piece by piece,

and don't get me started on those wood pigeons, always feigning excitement with their incessent 'coo coo' whenever i venture outside.

These little fellas will do me fine, hard working, industrious, chatty ,friendly, modest, loving, brave and inquisitive.....

and they call them common and ordinary..

Sounds like an example other species could do with following.

( Couldn't think of a 'sparrow' related song title so i give you Madness fans 'Wings of a Dove')
