Wednesday 16 February 2011: Moonlit evening
Rationality has no place in feeling while an image may tell a thousand words
Think of the lights that shine in your home town,
They'll meet you and guide through tough times ahead,
Think of the hand that helped to heal you,
The words you think, but never have said.
There were those times you felt so alone,
But who picked you up, to carry on,
Who brings warmth to your cold heart,
Be thankful and pray they'll never be gone.
Think of the lights that shine in your home town,
They'll meet you and guide through tough times ahead,
Think of the hand that helped to heal you,
The words you think, but never have said.
Why dwell on the times your heart felt like breaking,
The icy cold cut that sliced it in two,
Try to move past the fears that blind your vision,
Move into the light, you know what to do.
Think of the lights that shine in your home town,
They'll meet you and guide through tough times ahead,
Think of the hand that helped to heal you,
The words you think, but never have said.
Don't be afraid, the past is behind you,
Don't think of that love, it's dead and gone,
Stand straight and tall lift that weight off your shoulders,
It's past the time for you to move on.
Think of the lights that shine in your home town,
They'll meet you and guide through tough times ahead,
Think of the hand that helped to heal you,
The words you think, but never have said.
The waves still crash outside your doorstep,
The wind still blows and the world still turns,
The cold and warmth they'll come again with seasons,
You'll find love and care and time to relearn.
Think of the lights that shine in your home town,
They'll meet you and guide through tough times ahead,
Think of the hand that helped to heal you,
The words you think, but never have said.
Written while walking along the beach. Meant to be sung.
