Different when the tide's in

Domesticity. Shopping, tidying, prepping, cleaning and just a wee bit of cooking. The only event of the day was the bread machine giving up the ghost and breaking. Which wouldn't have been bad in itself since I don't actually use it as a bread maker - it's just a convenient mixer and kneader that I got for nothing. But the bugger had to go and marble the dough with horrible oily streaks before it died. A last act of defiance from a machine that never got to reach its full potential of baking a loaf.

Shame. It would have been a nice loaf - Black coffee rye bread with black pepper, caraway and fennel seeds. Too late to make another.

Popped out for an hour to find a photo. Thought about bowling clubs and their long term disappearance before ending up back at the harbour at this boat that I've posted a photo of before. It was snowy that time and the tide was out. The snow's long gone and today the tide was in, right up at its side forcing me to look at it from a different angle.

Right, the fire's going. Last bit of tidying before a friend comes for dinner.
