Earthquake survivor cat!

We have this lovely little cat living under our house now.

We heard the plaintive yowling and went to investigate and found him peeking out although we couldn't get him to come out.

Later we were able to find his owners who were very relieved to know where he was, but sadly he won't got home. They have taken him several times but as soon as he can he gets away and comes back under the house.

I think he thinks their house is where earthquakes happen whereas by the time he'd fled to our there was no quake and he thinks it's safe.

He will come out for a quick pat, but the slightest noise and he's fleeing back underneath again.

We will keep as eye on him and if he starts to look too thin we might have to feed him here. At the moment the owners are taking him back to feed him at home if they can catch him but he just grabs a mouthful and tires to get away again.

They can't stay in their house, it's wrecked, so they come in during the day to clean up and salvage what they can and check on him. they don't want to take him to where they are living now as at least now they know where he is, and that he's safe and being kept an eye on whereas if they take him somewhere else who knows where he will end up.

Another piece of collateral damage
