I live and work in Glasgow, although I grew up East Kilbride, the town to the south of the city that is famous for its many roundabouts and so nicknamed 'polo mint city' (but not to my knowledge ever called that by any residents past or present).

I need a little structure and connection in my life so am hoping that uploading photos and looking at other people's will be a good thing.

My journal title - four story - is a reference to the children's books by Elizabeth Enright. They introduced me to ideas of iced coffee, citronella, catfish and arrowheads. Even now, a good few years from childhood, I still read them with fascination and joy. And long to sleep in the cupola at the top of their house, the Four Story Mistake.

When I first started this journal my photos were mostly taken on my phone. Over the years I've graduated to a proper camera for days with deeper pockets, firstly a Canon PowerShot and now an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II.
