Treats

We were treated to a beautiful evening and sunset as we walked to the top of Arnside Knott. Here Gus is receiving his treat for climbing onto the stone plinth that makes up one of the supports of Councillor Lawson's seat. Though going for a walk with Wifie is treat enough for Gus, he simply adores her and will hardly leave her side when we are all together. Out of focus beneath Wifie's hand, the distant Coniston Fells bask in the low sunlight.

Backblipped on Friday 11th. I was far too tired when we got back last night to do a blip, let alone catch up with journals. We are entering a very challenging and all-consuming period at work, and I am going to need rather more sleep than I have been getting lately. During Thursday afternoon, I was listening in to a rather dull webinar, and when Simon came to ask me if I wanted a cup of tea, he woke me from a slumber at my desk. Alas, old age and decrepitude mean that I need more sleep now than I used to if I'm to maintain my concentration through the working day - and people keep telling me that we need less sleep as we get older.
