it’s fun to stay in the YHA…

This has got to be one of the most iconic structures in the world.  And we can see it from the roof terrace of the Sydney YHA which will be our home for the next few days.  We can also see the Sydney Opera House.  Woho.

It’s been a very long time since I stayed in a Youth Hostel - since I was a youth in fact.  My, how things change.  We have a double en-suite room in one of the most expensive city-centre sites in the world at a fraction of a hotel cost.  There are young (and not so young) backpackers and middle aged case-pullers.

The sun has set by the time we emerge from checking-in to start checking out the locale.  There are people on the bridge - a bridge-walk is one of the big adrenalin thrills of Sydney.  More Anniemay’s thing than mine.


It’s been a long day and we’re three hours ahead so time to head up to the dorm.
