tales of the unexpected

There are many things I love about Blip - one is when you come across something so utterly unexpected that you’ve just got to blip it.

If you read Anniemay’s blip you’ll see that we had the unexpected pleasure of seeing RMS Queen Mary 2 when she docked in Sydney Harbour this morning.

You’ll also know that we had an unexpectedly pleasant day at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.  So we’re not really expecting anything else to blow our minds.  We’ve had enough excitement for one day.

We’re sitting in our room around 7 in the evening when we hear a boom sounding up from the harbour (not a bang-type boom, but the deep sonorous call of a ship - a very large ship - leaving town.

We rush up to the roof garden in time to see QM2 leave the harbour.  An amazing end to an amazing day.
