Addiction...

I used to be a regular smoker when I was younger, at school. I say regular because inspite of smoking every day I was never addicted. At first it was an everyday occurrence with school friends but never really developed into a habit. There them came the time where I decided I was giving up and did so. It was on a National No Smoking day before I left school if I remember right. Didn't suffer any withdrawl effects hence the non-addicted conclusion.

There was then a period of social smoking where I only really smoked whilst others were. This usually entailled the 'tapping' of others ciggies whilst never really buying my own.

The next period manifested itself more or less as only special occasion very occasional smoking, the special occasion usually being poker nights. At this time I still enjoyed the odd cigarette which never really affected me that much.

I've now reached a stage where I get a nicotine hangover if I over indulge in a concentrated period of time. My body seems to punish me for such behaviour. I still like the odd cigar which is usually during the aforementioned poker nights but apart from that, I generally stay away.
