Take it to the bridge

Meetings in London tomorrow morning so I travelled down this evening. My laptop was out of juice after surfing on the train on the way down, so I stopped off in the office to pick up a power pack and then a nice Thai meal before heading off to catch a blip I have had my eye on for a while...

This is one of the Golden Jubilee Footbridges at Charing Cross and I love the way the lights pick people out as they cross. The slightly misty evening was perfect for it too.

As I was walking to the train station in Edinburgh today, I took the scenic route through Prince Street Gardens. On Princes Street there was an English guy doing what was clearly a home grown 'tour' of Edinburgh for some American tourists. In a very loud voice. So loud that I could hear it from the path in the gardens. This is what I heard, I quote:

"... and in front of you now at the top end of the castle is Arthur's Seat, because that is King Arthur was crowned King of England ..."

One of the plucky students even questioned him and he replied:

"... yes, that's right, on top of the craggy rock was where King Arthur was crowned ...".

I was both speechless, in a fit of giggles and mad all at the same time. I just hope he was taking the piss and it was a new comedy tour of Edinburgh that I had missed. But he was probably a misinformed arse.

Oh well, its been a while since I had a rant on blip!

LOTD: Two links today - I loved Worry Pas' big sky blip, a perfect composition and I can't let Valopilkku's Rambo contrast blip go without a mention - an insightful social comment.
