Playing with ink

Today has been a rainy old day. I slept in until nearly 11 am (I must have needed it) and then Canterbury and I headed out to meet up with no other then Benek, Bluesheep and Jenny. It was great to meet them in the flesh and we spent a very pleasant 2 hours chatting and drinking various warm beverages.

Before we started the car, we called some other friends and ended up going to meet up with them in yet another café for yet another drink.

What better way to spend a rainy day than with good company?

This is not my usual style of photograph but I figured that it's gross outside and it's a new month and I fancied having a play. This is the result.

I got to thinking while I was fiddling with the shots. I play it safe most of the time, no risks, nothing scary. I guess that's the same with my photography. It felt good to be messing around with different inks and getting my hands dirty. I really enjoyed it. I'm kind of glad that it's rainy today because it got me to move out of my comfort zone and have a fiddle. Thanks to Canterbury for his technical advice (as annoying as it was at the time) and for stirring the water for me.

Are you a 'play it safe' kind of a person?

Edit: to the Mods - there is no border on this shot, just a line down the middle to separate the colours. Does this constitute as a border? It never has before. Thanks.
