Iditarod36

This is the first time in 3 years I wasn't working on the day of the official start of the 1,150 mile Iditarod sled dog race. The "ceremonial" start was in Anchorage yesterday, but the real thing kicked off today in Willow, Alaska about 35 miles NW of where I live. Here's a few more shots from today I was fond of.

Edit:
I'm changing my shot over to one I took of DeeDee Jonrowe as the one of Josh Mackey (#36) looks too much like the one Chaos shot yesterday at the ceremonial start. DeeDee is arguably the most celebrated female musher in Alaska notably racing after battling breast cancer in 2002.

Calico has a great colorful husky bootie shot.
