Went round to see our friend H tonight, to share a glass of wine or two and create a little bit of diversion, as she goes into hospital tomorrow ready for another big op on Monday. To say she is 'bricking it' is an understatement, but she's a tough cookie and is still finding the time to giggle and make that hi-pitched sound with a wine glass.

You know, the one that you can never do as good yourself. The one that your mum used to say would crack the wine glass. The one that makes all dogs nearby go bonkers.

(17 was the age of the dancing queen in the song by the way. Not that I'm a fan of that song, or Abba come to that. But H trained to be a dancer, see)
