VOIMS

This is VOIMS (The Voice of Irish Motor Sport), also known as Robin Rhodes, one of our Formula 1 Grand prix gang which meets for lunch and shout-at-the-screen sessions while we watch the TV coverage of some of the races during the season. Today was the (deadly boring) Chinese Grand Prix. At least Massa managed to finish second to Lewis Hamilton, but that still leaves him seven points adrift with only one race remaining. Some of the commentators are of the opinion that Felipe will have an advantage because that race is his home one in Brazil, but somehow I think he needs a bigger advantage than venue alone. At least Ferrari got rid of their malfunctioning electronic pit release system and there were no embarrassments in that department.

Carl and I went by DART to Niall's place from our opposite sides of the city, but shared a taxi back to Carl-side after the race, chat, a fabulous Chinese banquet and far too much drink. I retired to Carl's Kino and settled down to watch Cloverfield, which Carl had found really scary but which I felt was unsuccessfully tied up in its own hand-held technique. I didn't really care what happened to anybody.

I've back-blipped Friday and Saturday.
