My ailing friend

Since the white out problem started with my trusted friend, a lot of water has gone into the ocean, and I am still without a clear cut answer.

It was acknowledged by the agents that the problem was indeed that of white-out, that the image sensor device would be replaced under the recall that was on these models. Yet, on it's return toward the end of September, it whited-out again almost immediately.

So, off it went again to the fairest Cape of all for yet another look at the problem. Since we have had so many different opinions from the agents, by this time I already started to doubt whether any real work had been done on the image sensor device (CCD) ...

Now, MasterCare in George, our local Sony agent, decided to send it to their Head Office in Midrand in Jo'burg where a second opinion will be given on the white-out situation.

Since this poor fellow has done extensive travelling by courier services over the past few months, I feel reluctant to just let go of it again. I collected the Sony from MasterCare in order for my son James, who is visiting from Pretoria, to take it to Jo'burg.

It is still whiting-out, although some images in between seem to be perfect.

This has been a cumbersome and bad experience, and I am not impressed with the service I was afforded.
