Waiting for the Laundry

I mostly prepared for my trip to Italy today.

I only had my translation class this morning and my DEFLE art history class was not held, so I took care of a lot of things this afternoon. When I got home I prepared some stuff and then Rachel came over to cut my hair. I luckily found some haircutting scissors at Auchan yesterday for her to trim my hair down. She said that she had cut some hair before and I asked her to cut mine so that I could save some money and avoid having to explain how to cut my hair at a French coiffure. It was a rather nice day today so Rachel cut my hair out on my balcony. We were listening to Edith Piaf and it was great to just experience a French ambiance. After about an hour and several requests to cut my hair a certain way, the outcome of Rachel?s work was pretty good. It wasn?t a professional haircut, but I couldn?t ask for anything more.

After that my roommate and I went to the Laundromat to wash our dirty clothes. Our landlady who usually does our laundry was still on vacation and their washing machine and dryer were in their locked garage. The Laundromat we went to charged an arm and a leg to wash two loads and dry for about an hour and a half. I was planning to go buy canalés (little Bordeaux cakes) to buy as gifts for my friends with whom I will be staying with, but washing my clothes took forever. When I got home it was already past 8pm.

And after I got home, I spent all night packing and getting ready. It kinda felt like the night I was preparing to go to Bordeaux about two months ago now.
