rosy

did the rest of the packing and nipped up to town for some last-minute stuff this morning then train down to northumberland back to my parents' place as we're off at stupid o'clock tomorrow. their garden has, to put it mildly, grown a bit since i was last here (tho that was a month ago, so fair enough really). and my rosa "gertrude jekyll" is in bloom again - i'm no fan of pink, but this is delicate and the scent is truly that of an old-fashioned rose. which is what it is: a david austin old-fashioned, bought in memory of a couple who were wonderful people and are sorely missed whose gardens always had old-fashioned DA roses in them. just being out of the city is good, and despite inevitable pre-trip tensions i feel better.

backblipped for yesterday - another flower.
