Creative Writing Star

My eight-year-old niece, Evie.
She's been getting annoyed with me that I always take photos of her younger sister, Caroline... well, I explained that phenomenon to her: Caroline likes it when I take pictures of her; Evie, historically, does not.
So I told Evie that if she actually lets me take photos of her, I will be able to show her off too.

Luckily, this made sense to her and she doesn't run away and hide when I carry my camera around her. She even let me take pictures of her today while she was reading.
This morning, I got an email from my sister (Evie and Caroline's mama) that Evie won 1st and 2nd place in her school's creative writing contest for her fiction and non-fiction stories. I am so proud of her... she absolutely loves to read and write stories. I love her creativity.

edit: I changed it to this one of her.. I liked the shadows better and was not happy with the other pic in general. It's still Evie.. only after her piano practice this time.
