A boy and his duck

Well it really belongs to both the boys but Ruairidh reckon's it thinks he's its mother as he was there when it hatched.

Took 2 whole days from when it first pecked through to finally breaking out of the egg this morning. Now we can hardly believed it fitted into the egg. It's a noisy little beggar. It peeps louder than the oystercatchers did yesterday. It does seem a bit lonely and is intent on jumping out of its nice wrm box and following us. I think Ru would have taken it to bed with him as he didn't want to leave it alone. The boys decided to lend the duckling a teddy bear to give it something to cuddle up to. I don't think its fooled.

Somehow I think this little fella is going to take over our lives. I see trouble ahead...
