The Greenbrier Resort

On Thanksgiving Day we headed for Williamsburg, Virginia for a reprise of our honeymoon trip there in 1959. Our first stop was at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia where we enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed all the traditional Thanksgiving dishes, and then I finished off my meal with three desserts. Yes, I did say three. I find that hard to believe too, but it's true. It was a terrific meal in a beautiful setting. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and, as I said to Bob, we have so much for which to give thanks! The meal was served family style at tables set for 10, so in addition to delicious food, we met some very interesting people who shared our table.

While we waited for the dining room to open, we wandered the grounds and discovered this very fancy bird's home nestled in a tree by the veranda. The ornate construction of the nest seemed very apropos to its location.

Thanks to all you Blippers who commented on my recent blips around the theme of our 50th anniversary. I'm thankful for each and every comment. I will backblip the other pictures from our anniversary trip over the next couple of days.
