Eaves

The sun is nearly at its lowest now and this is all the sun this wall in a narrow street will get today. Only four days until the solstice and then the days will begin to lengthen.

Very cold again today - there are icicles on the fountain, but I thought jamjaragain's icicle photo was better than the ones I took.

Some commenters have expressed surprised that it is cold here in the Languedoc. We can get very low temperatures in winter, -6 C at night is quite common in December and January. It's almost always dry though, so we don't get much frost and only very rarely a few snowflakes. Luckily for me, because I don't like the cold, the winter is short and by February the weather usually starts to become springlike.
