Around the world in 80 Blips

Flick and Northern have cooked up a fantastic idea which they're desperate to share with the rest of the community. So here goes...

In a nutshell, the idea's quite simple - find your closest webcam, stand in front of it and get another blipper to simultaneously photograph you on their computer screen. Both sides (blipper and blippee) post the results to their journal.

Here are a few examples to get you in the mood:

Blipper : Blippee
Blipper : Blippee
Blipper : Blippee

The idea appears to be spreading like wildfire already, so Flick & Northern are keen to harness this enthusiasm and see if they can get two simultaneous webcam blip trails to work their way around the world and back to the beginning, sort of like a web-savvy Phileas Fogg. It's going to be a relay race, with the just-blipped becoming the next blipper. (First one to 80 wins a mystery prize, courtesy of the initiators.*)

We're going to hand over to Flick and Northern now, who will organise this properly through the comments below. Good luck ladies, we're looking forward to seeing the restults! Oh, and let us know when you want the whole Blipcentral crew to go and find a webcam to stand in front of...

* Actually, we made that bit up.
