Pleasant Surprise

This is Dave V. I worked with Dave for three years during my last Air Force assignment in Ohio before I moved to Alaska 4 years ago. Dave's a great guy, but we've lost touch. He still lives in Ohio, but he's here on business for a few days. He gave me a call from Anchorage this morning while I was at work. I told him to come up and visit me at work and I would give him a tour as we are in a brand new building. I was able to wrap things up at work shortly after he arrived and we had lunch together. I then brought him home to see our house and neighborhood and to see how much K has grown in the last 4 years. He shared a 2 mile walk with Daisy and me. We gossiped about a slew of colleagues we knew in common in Ohio and Alaska (Chaos, are your ears burning?).

I shot this to send back to Dave's wife by email so she knows that he's OK here in Alaska. Since Chaos was out of town and Dave was disappointed that he wasn't here, I thought I would post this shot for Chaos's benefit. I also deliberately included the mountains in the background showing "termination dust" on the peaks. That's a term I never heard of until I moved here. The pioneers called the first snow on the nearby mountain peaks "termination dust" which is a harbinger of the "termination" of summer. I thought Chaos would appreciate that as he left town before it hit.
