Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Life.turns Graduate

This picture was NOT one I took at the life.turns exhibition at Inspace because I did not get to attend the event.

This frame, however, will hopefully be joined with thousands of others because we're making a film, one frame at a time! Along with thousands of others, I am helping, one frame at a time! So this is my 4th contribution in this series of 8 poses. This is position #5.

Since deciding to make my Life.turns "walk" a masquerade party, I reached into the closet and pulled out my student graduate costume from my B.A. graduation. Back then Mr. Fun painted the top of my flat hat purple so that he could find me in and amongst the zillions of other graduates that were participating in the ceremonies at California State University that day. He said it worked quite well--he never had to guess where I was in the group of flat hats.

We decided to paint it purple because I had just read Alice Walker's The Color Purple. I liked the book very much and decided to decorate my entire graduation party in purple.

So now I guess there was a reason for keeping that flat hat.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. For the guys at BlipCentral: I was not able to submit this thought the life.turns browse button. It just wasn't working. Sorry! I'll come back later and try to resubmit by way of the "edit" option.
