Coming in from the sea

The weather today is horrible - what's described here as marin, with the wind off the sea. I can smell the salt in the air, even though we're at least 25 kilometres from the sea. It's humid and hot and we long for our more usual northerly wind bringing clear air from the mountains.

At lunchtime we drank this pale rosé, made near the coast, which we bought last week in Agde. Too pale to look very good in the glass, I thought it would be better in monochrome. A stemmed glass on the left and, on the right, a tumbler, in memory of my father who was born 106 years ago tomorrow and who always stubbornly preferred his wine in one of these simple glasses.
