Misty Morning at Long Point

We woke up early and drove through the fog to the meeting place for our day's birding tour of the Turkey Point and Long Point area. This morning photography won out over birding. It was extraordinary.

We started at the lake and looked out over a lake secluded and shrouded in mists and gusts of cloud. As the sun rose the fog lifted off the lake in wisps. Suddenly the sun broke through and the fields of pampas grass glowed in the golden light.

We toured several places and it was one of those wonderful days you try to remember for a long time.
